Comments | Wildcat advertised 5 trails, 23 acres, 1.4 miles of terrain, and the most vertical east of the Mississippi. Upper, Middle, and Lower Lynx were open. The snow guns were blasting on Middle and Lower Lynx. Snow making is typical for early season operations. However the snow making today was extremely wet and slushy. Too high of a water to compressed air ratio for the temperature. Upper Lynx skied nicely, but once we reached the snow making areas on the lower half of the mountain the conditions became very difficult. The snow was very wet and formed a frozen glaze of ice on everyone passing through. Goggles were quickly coated with ice, and many skiers were falling in the slushy, bumped up areas. Did a few runs and called it. |
