Comments CommentsSuperstar, K1, and Canyon running today.

Pretty much everything in the Canyon area was open, except Helter Skelter, Racer's Edge, and Royal Flush (no snowmaking). Escapade and Cascade were fine (Escapade has some narrow areas near the junction). Downdraft was finally open (was closed due to ice last Saturday) and was quite nice, as the soft ice kept it from getting too heavy. Double Dipper was open, but there are some very large bare spots crossing the trail. East Fall was good, but there are some bare spots popping up.

The runouts (e.g. below the Canyon Quad) are just about toast. Flume is closed, lower Cascade is very thin, and Spillway didn't look passable without walking. Much easier to take a lift up and ski out via Snowdon (full cover on Great Eastern) or Skye Peak (full cover on Blue Heaven-Launch Pad).

Snowdon was open wtih Great Northern as the upper and outer limit. Mouse Trap, Chute, and Bunny Buster still had close to full cover. Mouse Run is done, as is the bulk of Conclusion. Highline was open, but connect the dots down low.

Good coverage off the Superstar Quad. Superstar is still built up high with no trouble spots. Skye Lark and Bittersweet were still wall to wall. Skyehawk is narrow up top, but then fine. Upper Panic Button was open, as was lower Vertigo Headwall, both ungroomed, but the runout along the top of Snowshed is getting thin. Low Road was also open with bumps, but same issue with the runout. Old Superstar is closed. Ovation was good, as the ice has softened up.

Foggy start, but partly sunny by lunch time. No lines. Managed 27.5K vertical before calling it a day and heading over to Pico for a snowshoe jog (good cover on the snowmaking trails; could still be open top to bottom).
