Comments CommentsLatest lift served skiing I've ever had at Berkshire East. No lines, sunny skies.

Conditions were firm for the first few hours with frozen granular and ice. Things softened up around lunch time, resulting in spring skiing in most places (except in shaded areas, which stayed firm in part due to wind and temperatures not being too much warmer than freezing).

Thunder wasn't terribly good, as it looks like it doesn't drain well just above the Bolt junction. The very bottom of it/Lower Mohawk was toast by mid afternoon. Upper Thunder actually had a couple of inches of powder on the sides in the morning. Upper Mohawk was good, but the south facing part was getting narrow. Big Chief was wall to wall, top to bottom. Flying Cloud had a chokepoint at the waterbar just before midstation. Lower Cloud was wall to wall with one small bare spot. Competition was pretty much wall to wall, though the top of Upper Comp never softened up. Upper Minnie Dole was bumps with a few bare spots, but Lower Minnie was groomed and skied nicely. War Dance had a few bare spots. Exhibition skied nicely, but the crossover from it to Danny's Run was getting very thin/narrow late in the day. Hemlock was nice once the sun hit it. Roundabout had good coverage, but it and Hemlock were kind of inconvenient because the West Quad wasn't running. Outback was still fully covered with some grabby wet powder up top and slush at the ledges.

$30 tickets were a good day. Only a few dozen people on the mountain, so never a lift line, and you generally had your trail to yourself.
