Comments CommentsA little bit chilly, but partly sunny day.

Initially only White Cap through Spruce/North Peak were open, as the rest of the resort was on wind hold. White Heat had been groomed, so there was a rush to get fresh corduroy on it (and it was great). Locke had good conditions on the steeps and race trail, even late in the day. Barker wasn't quite as good, as Right Stuff had ice and frozen granular early in the morning. Upper Spruce was decent, but the overlapping lower trails were choppy. Didn't do much on North Peak/South Ridge, as it can get pretty congested with all abilities.

Vortex was fun top to bottom and in decent shape. Upper Airglow had some rocks sticking out. Northern Lights was decent. Firestar was closed. Upper Oz had decent snow, but the more open lower glades looked tired (did not attempt). Jordan had some boilerplate in the wind exposed areas, but was otherwise decent. Longest lines of the day here though.

Overall, the lines weren't too bad when avoiding the detachable quads. Crowds thinned out by 2, making for nicer skiing to round out the day. Managed 28K vertical.
