Comments | Fantastic Dartmouth day - everything open, no crowds. Started on the Holt's side. Worden was actually open, though a practice course was set soon after opening (fortunately they kept the trail open). One of the best trails in the state, and very good conditions. The shorter trails at the bottom had been groomed at some point, but were firm/wind blown. Skied Worden 4 times in a row! Lower Liftline (open despite web site saying it was closed) and Lower Gauntlet were open, but ungroomed with a few areas of thin cover, as well as untouched powder. Upper Gauntlet, Lower Meck, and Lower Lyme Drop had been groomed overnight and were nice. A little thin on Bypass and Juicer, but skiable. Hit a rock twice on Upper Papoose, but also plenty of untouched powder. Finished off the morning on Winslow, which was cold because you were skiing into the wind (the wind ended up closing Holt's just before 1). MD was open with a few thin spots. Herman's Highway, Lower Chivers, and Lower Thomas were all fantastic, with untouched corduroy to be found even at lunch time. It's amazing how big this area skis when everything is open. Awesome to have sunny weather and no crowds on what would otherwise be a very busy Saturday at other areas. | |
