Comments | Whaleback with ample natural snow is a much bigger, more enjoyable mountain. If you haven't skied it with everything open, you simply haven't skied it. There's a lot more to it than is visible from the highway. Everything was open today, and they kept the day trails open until about 6:45ish. Pretty good coverage on the natural trails, with only a few rocks here and there (and two wet spots opening up on Upper Ivory Run). All green circles were groomed (including Ivory and Whitetail), as well as most of the intermediate night skiing trails. Good crowd tonight, especially as the after work racing league arrived. Never too much of a lift line for the double (and seldom a T-Bar rider). Hopefully they keep night skiing going as long as this natural snow lasts. | |
