Comments CommentsFantastic morning at Black; almost changed plans and stayed for the whole day. Just the double chairlift, Pomalift, and rope tow running (triple chairlift looks like it hasn't run in awhile, and the J-Bar no longer has Js on it), but the lifts were ski-on pretty much all morning.

While only Maple Slalom was groomed off the top, there were quite a few options from the mid station (which isn't a 'mid' station, but rather an unload just before the final pitch). Lostbo was closed and Upper Black Beauty was thin.

From mid-station, some good intermediate cruisers on skiers right and lots of nice, peaceful, woodsy, narrow novice runs on skiers left. Good coverage on all groomed trails. Something like 8 unique groomed ways down and additional various possible with crossovers. Lots of ungroomed stuff open too, including lots of untracked powder if you know where to look for it. We were still finding sweet corduroy late in the morning.

Trails ski bigger than many "big" areas. Never a crowd. Friendly employees and laid back atmosphere.
