Session SessionFull Day
Lift Ticket Ticket TypeSeason Pass
Lift Lines Lift Lines16 to 20 minutes
Snow Trail Conditions60% open; Loose Granular, Variable Conditions
Glades GladesThere were no glades open any of the eight peaks on Saturday.
Moguls MogulsWhen I passed the trails Shockwave and Vortex there were huge snowmaking whales on White Cap.Unfortunately they had to shut down the White Heat Quad at 10:30 for the remainder of the day due to high winds and other lifts too.
Terrain Park Terrain Park(s)The T72 park was open off of North Peak and the Whoville Park was open as well.
Run of the Day Run of the DayJibe
Food and Beverage Food and BeverageI tried Cho Sun the noodle and sushi bar that is in the South Ridge Lodge. I tried the Noodles which was overpriced ($18) and a vegetable sushi roll ($10)! I think you could get something cheaper somewhere else at Sunday River.
Comments CommentsWhen I arrived at Sunday River I parked and started skiing off the Little White Cap Quad. I skied down to the White Heat Quad where most of the expert trails are located. I tried going on White Heat but they shut down the lift before I even got in line and more lifts went on wind hold following this...

White Cap and White Heat Areas:
The lower mountain lifts were open with plenty of lines for the rest of the day due to the wind holds in this area. The conditions were very icy and fast. Towards the end of the day there was enough snow on the side of the trail Jibe so it was icy.. Most of this area was skied off. The lines at these lifts were about 10-15 minutes.

Barker and Locke Mountain:
I took one run off of Locke and Barker. The Barker Mountain Express went on wind hold at 10:30 and they shut down the Locke Mountain Triple around 2:30 following the ski race that was happening. It got also got skied off quick as well even though I was over there at 11:30 it was still very icy even though you could snow on the sides of the trails. The lin eat the Triple was about 15-20 minutes.

Spruce Peak:
I took one run off of Spruce Peak and American Express was also skied off, are you seeing a trend here? Spruce was open till 4PM and there was no wind hold on this peak. The line was shorter here than any other peak.

North Peak:
In the FaceBook photos you see the Chondola was still open along with the South Ridge Express... The Chondola shut down around 12PM and the only lift that was open was the South Ridge Express. The North Peak Express was open and the lines in this area were about 15-20 minutes.

Aurora Peak:
Was closed due to wind.

Jordan Bowl:
Was closed due to wind.

With five of the upper mountain lifts closed due to wind it created icy conditions across the terrain that was open and also had long lines at all lifts. If you were at Sunday River yesterday you had an interesting day!
