Comments | Rolled the dice on Loon not being too busy (lost last Saturday) and won. All snowmaking trails open, except South Peak (closed for the season after last weekend). Varying spring conditions - some really soft/heavy areas on West Basin, some firm/ungroomed areas in East Basin (not bulletproof though), some hero snow mid-morning. I think West Basin closes for the season tomorrow. Some thin spots where the mountain bike trails cross, but otherwise still pretty decent snowpack. Lifts were at most a few chair wait. Was able to walk onto the gondola throughout the morning via the singles line with virtually no wait (can't even say that for midweek during mid-season). Seemed like a ghost town for Loon standards (even with the slush jump). Though it was cloudy, the rain held off all morning, making for a decent day on the slopes. |
