Comments Comments Cold and windy and firm. Started at South Peak and good close parking to be had at 9am. Black diamond trails were roped off..they looked well groomed but certainly firm and the ski patrol didn't want to be too busy today. The wind blowing up the mountain kept my speed down. I was pissed off the sideways chair over to Loon the chairs had a quarter inch of snow/ice to sit on, it was too cold for them not to sweep the seats. Coolidge St.firmest boiler plate on any of their open trails. Kanc 8 no line and I had a couple chair rides solo. Lower Picked Rock was great loose granular, they must have tilled it all nice long. Only lift line is of the day was 7 brothers, I didn't know they shut the gondola down. Over to North Peak, I could get my edge in on the firm snow on Walking Boss and Flume and enjoyed runs nearly solo on these trails. Loon provided a better snow surface than I expected. It was only 13 degrees when I arrived and 23 when I left at noon. Come back Spring skiing! At least the sun was out.
