Comments | 68 of 45 trails, 18 groomed, 4 of 5 lifts (J-bar said as needed), 19-26°F, light wind & partly sunny which turned to cloudy & light snow showers late in the day. Our 2nd Indy there redemption went faster. They were making snow on Jackson/Chute all the way to the summit which were all closed. I'm still confused on the trail count. The SR said 68 open. Their own The Mountain says 45. Other sources add 15 glades. Still doesn't add up to 68. I don't feel like adding up the list on the SR which showed none closed. But the 4 (I call it one) they were making snow on were closed plus only one route off the top so that's at least 4 more plus White Knuckle closed so you do the math. The non-groomed trails were fairly frozen and most on the lower mtn were mainly bare. The snow making trail has at least 10 feet of snow on it in spots. Rumor has it that they are will be open as long as they can. So They must be banking on that route. Far skiers left couple trails have some ice and bare spots but very skiable but no longer very green. The renamed Alpine Cabin is advertised as having champagne. They also have fondue this year. I think the wide staircase up to the cabin is dangergous. The handrails are not handrails but 2 X 6s that you cannot get a grip on going up or now. It should have center handrail on a stair case that wide
All lifts were ski on all day. |
