Comments | Didn't get there for first chair, but got there for, um, first rainstorm. Nice blue sky - I went into lodge, came out 2 minutes later and a complete downpour. Decided to head up the Holt side anyway, and near the top pouring rain turned to wet dumping snow. Well, the weather isn't the ski area's fault, but, by the second run, I was soaked through. I debated changing into Goretex but figured blue skies were on the way, and they did warm things up but I was still cold. Stayed a bit less than 2 hours, enjoying both sides. Snow had turned slushy, obviously, with the precip, so, the outer flatter trails were abit tedious. Rain and sun had turned up a few (minimal) brown spots. Upper Thomas said thin cover and it got very thin except on sides. Black diamonds were riding nicely because you really need to keep up some speed given how slow and slushy conditions were getting. Finally, after lunch, I called it a day. |
