Comments Comments81 of 81 trails, 8 of 9 lifts, the tram only ran for the chosen 500, 44F, no wind. Clear early, high altitude clouds late. Spring snow, machined groomed. Still plenty of snow around but harder to turn in. Lots of chunky chunks, lower runs in the sun had the gripme grabme early. More bare spots opened up. Not sure how they could say they were 100% open with tram closed to us mere mortals. Despite the dire predictions of eclipse-o-mania it didn’t happen on the slopes. Didn’t happen at Stateside either. We rode the Flyer a few times and it was only a couple minute wait at the most. They put up long queue line ropes at Bonnie and Jet and never needed 5 feet of them. Online they said they were only parking Tram side but Stateside was less than 2/3 full at 1pm.
The Eclipse lived up to its potential. There was less than 100 people outside the Stateside hotel. A few people skied down after totality. Talked to some of them. One guy said there was at least 100 people up there at the Bonnie level even though that was forbodden.
