Comments | Today was another day of April skiing in March. We bought our season passes for next year, and spent the day enjoying the soft spring conditions. The day started cloudy with ungroomed terrain being quite firm, but it was sunny and everything was soft spring snow by mid-day. Androscoggin, Kennebec, Sunday, Aroostook, Saint John, Lower Allagash, and Sandy were all groomed with pretty good coverage and only occasionally bare spots (They did an impressive job making snow on Saint John + Lower Allagash this season.). Magalloway was groomed, but was quite thin with only natural snow to work with. Rapid and Songo were ungroomed and had numerous bare spots to avoid.
Crowds were very light, as expected on a mid-week day. We enjoyed the spring snow all day long, and our legs were quite tired by closing time. They should have enough snow to make the weekend of the 23rd, if they want, but I don't think it will be possible for them to go beyond that. |
