Comments | Nice to get away from the big(ger) crowds after the new snow. It was “busy” at Suicide Six this morning because of a race they were hosting on The Face. They were courteous enough to only hold the skiers left half of the slope, leaving a good chunk of groomed terrain open to the public along with natural bumps further right. The Gully was open, we were told by another skier it skied well. It was natural (no snow making on that side anyway), and rocks and puckies were pretty prominent features. One and done for us on that one. Perley’s Peril was natural as well, and it was easy enough to be strategic about avoiding puckies and rough patches. This trail was also considerably more skied down than Gully was. I chose a line that was to skiers left, and picked my way down the steepest pitch to get to the plushy soft bumps below. I believe The Chute was the other natural trail open.
Bunny’s, Easy Mile, and Milky Way were all very good. The jug handle on Bunny’s was soft natural fun. I coukdnt resist it each time we skied the trail. Skyline was good, I think it was groomed before the others since it seemed a bit more firm. The crowd loosened up around 11:00 when the racers went in for break, but the line quickly grew to be congested when they came back out. We took our exit at that point, and headed over to Quechee for lunch and another session. |
