Comments | 100% open and good base depths. I was able to buy a 4 hour ticket at the window just before 8 AM without reservations. Apparently the web site did report online sales were sold out a day earlier, but I had no issue. Upper Tom's Treat was a little scratchy in a few places, and Satan's Stairway got scraped, but otherwise everything nice packed power/loose granular surfaces. Satan's Stairway was added since my last visit almost 20 years ago. Fun steep, narrow trail. Gunbarrel was also quite nice first thing (race training gates set on the side in the morning, but not too much impact). Lines started to build around 10 (about 5 minutes), as the Exhibition Triple was down (crews still trying to get it running when I left). Prior to then, it was only a few chair wait. Trails were not crowded. Fun mountain with lots of neat, narrow trails. Skis similar to Pats Peak (albeit with narrower trails) in terms of vertical and pitch (not quite as steep). Good variety too. Cold morning with the temperature around 0 to start, but clear blue skies and no wind were nice. | |
