Comments | Parking lots were perhaps as full as I've ever seen them (the roadside lots were nearly full by 8:30, and they were parking below maintenance around lunch), but there were no lift lines or crowds on the trails. Unfortunately, the reason for the crowd was a race on Don Worden Schuss, which meant that trail (in my opinion one of the best in the state) and Green Pastures and T-Line were closed to the public. On Holt's, upper Lift Line was half groomed. Lower Lift Line was ungroomed and a bit scraped with some rocks poking through. Upper Gauntlet was groomed out and good. Lower Gauntlet was ungroomed, but good (the wide upper had some of the best natural on the mountain and the face had navigable moguls). John Meck and Lyme Drop were also groomed and in good shape. Juicer was open, but toast. Papoose was groomed and nice. On Winslow, MD had seen a single cat pass at some point, but was inconsistent. Herman's Highway had fantastic groomed conditions. Jug Handle and Cum Laude were a little tattered (natural ungroomed), but Post Doc was decent ungroomed. Chivers was good and Thomas from the crossover down was great. Packed powder this morning, but one could tell the spring snow was on its way in the sun by lunchtime. Though I feel deprived by not skiing Worden's, the skiing was still good and more enjoyable and plentiful than at some larger resorts. | |
