Comments | Smooth, squeaky, packed powder day at Loon today. The snow fall from earlier this week was all groomed in, and conditions were great across the mountain. The weather was partly cloudy. The morning temp was -9° F, and it warmed up to about 23° in the afternoon. It was busy today, but the singles lines at North Peak and the West Basin moved quickly. Avoided the long lines at the Gondola. The lift attendants were out in force today. They did a good job of directing traffic and making sure the chairs went up fully loaded. Skied until 3:00. The packed powder was deep. I only encountered a few skied off spots in high traffic areas by late afternoon. In the West Basin Rumrunner and Coolidge Street were closed for most of the day for race training. Tomorrow should be more of the same but with somewhat warmer temperatures. |
